What other sensory experiences might complement the use of a virtual tour in your classroom?
There are many things that can complement a virtual field trip. For example, if you are taking a virtual field trip to Hawaii and are learning about their culture, etc., you can bring in music and food from Hawaii. You can also have someone teach some Hawaiian dancing as well. There can also be various artifacts from Hawaii around the classroom. This way, the students are receiving all of the five senses, plus some kinesthetic.

3 of My Favorite Virtual Field Trips:
I loved the idea of making a tour of the sites in James and the Giant Peach. This is a great way to bring the class reading to life.
I loved the map around your own town idea. This is a great way for students to learn about their own communities. It is also a great opportunity to share to the class about their homes.
I thought that the celebrations around the world idea was a great idea. This is a great approach to the teaching about other cultures and makes it more real.

Ups and the Downs of a Virtual Tour:

I think that a virtual tour is a great idea for the student's learning. It is an exciting approach on learning. It can be used in various areas of learning. It can be used in learning geography, history, science, ecosystems, etc. It can be used a reward for the student's and they can take turns choosing somewhere to travel to in the world and learn about. While a virtual field trip is a great approach to learning, there can also be a few cons, as there are with everything. The student's may find it too confusing or may find it too exciting, and therefore become to rowdy during class time. These are the only downsides that I can find, however.
